I just finished up my third week of P90X 2! So far I’m extremely impressed with my results. I’ve been drinking Shakeology every single day and doing my work out five days a week with 2 rest or stretch days. I took a couple days off for Christmas so I can’t say that it’s been a perfect program. However, my results are undeniable. I body fat percentage is going down. Since October when I started P90X I’ve gone down 8% in total. I regrettably did not take my body fat percentage three weeks ago when I started P90X2. However you can seen the pictures that has definitely gone down. I can really see a difference in my abdominal muscles. I feel stronger every day and a full of energy! I’ll report again in a few weeks but for now, I am more than impressed! There is one funny part – Tony Horton – he’s a nerd! He tells the worst jokes in the world but it makes me laugh. Maybe that’s why I have such improvement in my abdominal muscles.

Off to do P90X2 yoga! Talk to you guys later!

Woo hoo! Day 1: Complete.

Can I just say #1 how thankful I am for those of you following me on this journey! Today was a little rough for me. Not a horrible day but just very exhausting. Had a 2 hour long eye appointment where I had every drop known to man and every tool the doc could possibly think of jabbed into my eyes. No bueno! Then had to pack up all my office stuff as we’re moving locations so by the time I got home (late might I add) from work, I was POOPED! (Pardon my french) But…I promised you guys I was starting Day 1 today and I couldn’t let you down. And I’m THANKFUL for it! I feel great, mood is improved and I feel accomplished for the day. You guys will be holding me accountable during the next 90 days. THANK YOU!

So the first video in Phase One is X2Core. Let me tell you how refreshing this video is! The moves are fun..different and challenging. I was dripping sweat by the end but the workout went fast!

P90X2 X2 Core 55 minutes 37 seconds

The only thing I wasn’t very impressed with was the stretching at the beginning but I think that’s because I didn’t have all the proper equipment. That brings up another good point…

EQUIPMENT

This programs advertises that you need a lot of equipment and if you want to go out and buy it all go ahead but you DO NOT have to. They will show you modifications you can do to get a great workout without all the extras. Buy one thing at a time if you want but it’s not a necessity. I got by just fine with a resistance band. I also happen to already have a medicine ball on hand but if you don’t have one, use something else with some weight. Grab your dog..who cares!

That’s one of the great things about Beachbody programs is no matter what fitness level you are, there is always a way to modify so you can do a move.

I know I’m looking a little rough and sweaty here but I DONT CARE! Happy to have day 1 under my belt!

“Do your best, and forget the rest!”

“Beachbody is just one big BIG FREAKIN CRAZY eclectic second family that wants nothing more than for each of its members to succeed.”

I’ve had a lot of questions lately about Beachbody coaching. What is it? Why am I doing it? Who can be a coach? So I wanted to take a few minutes to address all of those questions.

First and most important…what is Beachbody coaching. Coaches are people helping people. Most of us are just normal people, that want to help give others the motivation, tools and encouragement to reach their health and fitness goals. Sure…some coaches are nutritionists, personal trainers, etc. Some are also dentists, event planners, soldiers, marines, stay at home moms/dads…I could go on. The point is, it doesn’t matter what your background is…if you have the drive and motivation to help others and CHANGE LIVES…YOU can be a coach. Like I said, we’re people helping people…plain and simple. It need not be any more complicated than that.

Bigger question…WHY am I a coach. In the coaching community we talk about our “why” a lot. This is what drives us to push harder and help more people. It’s different for each of us. The one thing we all have in common is we want to help others. Personally, I started coaching because I was looking for more purpose in my life. I also wanted a job that I got excited about and that was incredibly rewarding. A job my kids can be proud of. Also, a job that supported me, my family and our goals in return. I want to plan my job around my life, not plan my life around my job. I’m a mom and wife before anything. Coaching gives me the opportunity for extra income to support my family but I have the flexibility to do it when it best fits my schedule. Hear that…I said MY schedule!

How did I become a coach? That’s a funny story actually. I started my first Beachbody program over the summer (Insanity woot!) I was poking around on the Insanity FaceBook page and chatting with other people doing the programs. One of the Beachbody coaches friended me on FB. Joelle (my coach) was always posting these encouraging things and talking to me over Facebook. I loved her great attitude and I loved her posts highlighting other people’s success. She seemed like she was loving life and everyone was so thankful for her help and support. I honestly started getting a little JEALOUS LOL! So…I sent her a message and said…listen chick…what’s up? What do I have to do to have a job like that? She said, “Simple, join my team and help Team Beachbody change lives.” I’m paraphrasing here because there were several messages exchanged but that’s the jest of it. So…here I am today and I COULDN’T HE HAPPIER. Team Beachbody is such an amazing support group. It’s like a BIG FREAKIN CRAZY eclectic second family. And I wouldn’t have it any other way…

So…when are you going to take that step…join my team! We’re just waiting for you to reach out! If you want to change lives…help people…motivate people…this can be your 2nd family too

So I started to crawl into bed tonight thinking about a new video that I wanted to add to Youtube and I was so wrapped up in it that I couldn’t help put write it on my notepad but I became so passionate about this thought and what I wanted to say I decided, forget the notepad because my hand can’t write as fast as my fingers can type and well…here I am at 10:30 at night ready to tell the world.

I have a passion and a mission and a desire in my life to change the world. I don’t mean in a major way like Mother Teresa or icons like the late Steve Jobs. In a subtle but meaningful way. I want to change the world and I want it to start with you. So many people neglect themselves. I want to help you become the BEST you. That has to begin with you learning to put you first at least once a day. It has to start with good health and nutrition. LISTEN PEOPLE! This really is the foundation of life! All things will follow if you put your health and fitness first.

Do you have a goal? Passion for something? Do you find you get tired and wrapped up in so many things and commitments that you start to neglect yourself? I know I’m guilty sometimes and I used to be guilty all the time. I thought I had a legit excuse. I’m a mom. I’m a wife. I’m an employee. I’m a daughter. I’m a sister. These people NEED me! Well guess what I learned and I learned it the hard way. I’m worthless to them if I don’t take care of me. How did I figure this out? My husband got orders to Afghanistan. (PROUD US ARMY WIFE WOOT) So I kissed the love of my life goodbye for the next 19 months. I’m working 40-50 hrs a week, going to school half time with two kids and I’ve just moved in with my mother who’s battling depression and addiction. My sister and brother have been living with her and helping her and are wearing down so they are also in desperate need of some strength, TLC and motivation. (Yes I tend to test how much I can handle all at once. God wouldn’t give it to you if you couldn’t handle it right? Or did I give this to myself? Humm…) So guess what happened and it happened fast, I cracked under the pressure. You probably that guessed right? I really took this opportunity to reevaluate my life. At this point I was worthless to everyone and most importantly I was worthless to my kids who needed and deserved me most. This is right around the time I had my aha moment. I started being more careful about the food that I put into my mouth. Quality over quantity. I started running and going to the gym more. I didn’t think I had the time but guess what, if something is important enough, you make time. People started noticing. I was losing the stress weight and guess what…I started pulling my sister along for the ride. She called me drill sergeant at times but I kind of liked it. I noticed that when I pushed her harder, I pushed myself harder. I lost about 5 lbs but regained a lot of muscle and over the next year so she lost 30 FREAKIN LBS. Watching her learn to care for herself and take control over her life was the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done besides being a mom. I guess sometimes I feel like I’m more of a mom than a sister to her anyway.

The point of my rambling is to say: let me help you, become the best you. Watching someone take control of their heath doesn’t just change their life, but the lives of people around them too. Starting good habits rubs off on others, ESPECIALLY and most importantly if you’re a parent! Set a good example for your kids. This will affect generations to come and it will have to started with you. Take pride in that. Let me take pride in that too! That’s what this is all about. I want to set an example for my kids. Not just teach them good healthy habits but teach them to go after their passion. If you’re not following your passion, you’re wasting your potential. Life is too short and sweet to spend it doing something that you don’t love. Make goals for yourself and don’t let anyone tell you that they are unattainable. You are the only person that can get in your way.

This…this is my passion. Helping people learning health and fitness and helping people realize their potential. That’s my legacy. That’s the mark I want to leave on the world. I may not got down in history or have a special wikipedia page but I know that when I help you regain control of your health and fitness I also gave you the tools to pass on to your children and I’m going to have an affect on generations to come. Let me help you, become the best you.
